Penrith Regional Gallery & the Lewers Bequest is offering an audio described tour of the current suite of exhibitions, 'Gathered Up'. This tour is designed for people with vision impairment who are curious about visual art and includes hands-on tactile elements.

'Gathered Up - The Robin Gurr Collection' showcases a stellar array of Aboriginal artworks from the private collection of art enthusiast Robin Gurr. The works present a range of Aboriginal art practices from remote communities who, as custodians of their traditional land, use a variety of mediums to document their stories of tribe, clan, language and country.

'Gathered Up - The Farley Gift' features a selection of beautifully crafted wood works by the late Sonia Farley, including free standing sculptural forms and functional objects. An inherent respect and appreciation of nature and the qualities of natural materials is revealed in her commitment to generating organic shapes and sculptural forms that blend abstraction with functionality.

This free event will be held on Monday 22 November from 10am to 11:30am, followed by a morning tea.

RSVPs are essential and can be made to Naomi McCarthy on phone 02 4735 1100 or email nmccarthy@penrithcity.nsw.gov.au.

Penrith Regional Gallery & The Lewers Bequest is located at 86 River Road, Emu Plains NSW.
