To be held in Sydney on 5-6 September, the conference focuses on how the market does, and does not, deliver for consumers. The event will feature a wide variety of speakers from government, industry, regulatory authorities and consumer groups, who will each present different a perspective on a range of issues, including privacy, security, regional communications and financial hardship policies.
For the first time, the ACCAN National Conference will also be featuring a texpo of new and emerging technologies with a special emphasis on those which increase access to media and communications for people with a disability. This will include Access iQ, Media Access Australia’s new initiative which aims to increase knowledge of accessibility amongst web professionals.
In the interests of practising what they preach, conference organisers are providing captions, Auslan interpreters and wheelchair access for all sessions.
