According to Patch<\/a>, a 2022 $24.6 billion merger deal between Kroger and Albertsons, which was poised to be the largest merger in history, was blocked by a federal judge after nearly two years of delays in the courts.<\/p>\n

With the closure of 60 stores, Kroger also announced plans to reinvest the savings into enhancing the overall shopping experience for customers.<\/p>\n
