PDF Day Australia
The event is designed to assist CIOs, document management experts and electronic content policymakers understand ISO-standardised PDF (Portable Document Format) technology. Annual PDF Day events usually occur in Europe and alternate with PDF Technical Conference events in North America.
This year there was a welcome focus on accessibility for those with a disability, along with the latest in archiving, and discussions on the direction that the PDF is taking and how organisations can best use this cross-platform file type.
This gathering brings ISO committee members and electronic document and accessibility professionals together to discuss the significance of ISO standards for PDF as well as the technology and solutions available to business users of PDF documents. Founded in 2006, the PDF Association has been staging events providing education and promotion of PDF technology since 2008.
Media Access Australia's Accessibility Services Manager, Ally Woodford, was among those attending the all-day event.
