Media Access Australia updates audio description infoline
MAA produced this recorded information line late last year to enable people who are not connected to the Internet to access information about audio description.
The infoline provides information about audio description on cinema, DVDs, TV and the arts for people who are blind or vision impaired, and is updated every three months.
For a quicker way to access the information you need about audio description call the MAA infoline on 1300 165 642 for the cost of a local call (landlines only). To talk to someone in person, please call MAA direct on (02) 9212 6242.

Captioned radio demonstrated in the US
NPR’s device delivers a real-time transcript of the audio being broadcast. As it would be unsafe for drivers to see this, the device has a dual screen. The driver sees GPS navigational maps, while the passenger can read the radio captions.
NPR Labs is a not-for-profit broadcast technology research and development centre. For more information on captioned radio, see the Radio World website.
