Many countries have moved towards disability inclusion through strategies, equity and diversity plans. Generally the only area that has been enshrined in law has been around building codes, but Manitoba’s new standard is an example of it reaching into digital accessibility and customer service.
The conference included sessions on the last decade of audio description on television and in cinemas in the UK, and the challenges facing the service over the next ten years. It was coordinated by RNIB (the Royal National Institute of Blind People), and sponsored by BTI Studios, Deluxe and ITV.
‘Mortido’ is revenge, tragedy, crime thriller and contemporary morality play all rolled into one. It begins with a Mexican fable about death and takes in the Sydney police force, Qantas, quinoa, Berlin, Nazi Germany, Krispy Kreme donuts, Coca Cola, public housing, a seventh birthday party, the property market and a body in Australia’s most famous Harbour.
The seminar will feature products such as the iPhone and iPad, and will cover options for vision, hearing, motor and cognitive disabilities. In addition to this, every Apple store in Australia will be running an accessibility workshop on Saturday 31 October at 9:30am.
