The ABC has released the list of programs that will be available on its online service iview during February with audio description for the blind or vision impaired.

The adult programs are: Afghanistan: Inside Australia’s War, Australian Story, Call The Midwife, Cuffs, Death In Paradise, Doc Martin, Fortitude, Foyle’s War, How Not To Behave, Inspector George Gently, Jack Irish, Joanna Lumley’s Nile, No Offence, Our Zoo, Peep Show, Sherlock, Still Open All Hours, The Doctor Blake Mysteries, Vera and the documentary Finding Vivian Maier.

Children will also be well catered for with Bubble Bath Bay, Bushwhacked, Charlie and Lola, Degrassi, Eve, Hoopla Doopla, Octonauts, Ready For This, Same But Different, Spooksville and Thunderbirds Are Go.

The audio described programs, which can be viewed on desktops, iPads and iPhones, Android devices and FreeviewPlus, are part of the ongoing trial of audio description on iview. This commenced in April 2015 and is due to continue until the end of June 2016.

Two hours of audio described programs are being added to iview every day during the trial. To find them, go to iview, click on ‘Programs A-Z’ and select ‘Audio described’.
