To send a reply to a particular user you can manually type the username rather than selecting ‘reply’, The username must be pre-ceded by the @ symbol, for example, ‘@mediaaccessaus your message here’.

Accessible Twitter is designed to be easier to use and is optimized for disabled users. Accessible Twitter offers the following features:

  • Re-tweet, Reply and Favorite links/icons are always visible;
  • Ample Direct Message short-cut links;
  • Search;
  • Linked search (hash) terms and user references (i.e. @dennisl);
  • Trends page: weekly, daily, and current;
  • Popular Links page: all, news, images, video;
  • Time-Out feature (optional at sign-in); and
  • Everyone page (public timeline).
