How to access Skype

Jaws scripts for version 4.1

A number of JAWS scripts are available for more recent versions of Skype, up to and including Version 4.1. To download the script and hear about the updates and new features please visit dlee.org. There are hints for using the scripts including how to make Jaws say who is signing in and out of your contacts.

Speak and translate chats

‘Speak and Translate Chats’ will speak your Skype conversations to you. Also, this Extra will translate your Skype chats using 38 different language pairs, from one language to another so that you can chat using Skype with others all around the world, and not even know the other Skype users language.

‘Speak and Translate Chats’ can be found by navigating to:

Tools > Options > Do More > Get Extras

Then select features, which is located on the left, and select the green arrow for ‘Speak and Translate Chats’, which is located on the right. This will install the Skype Extra. ‘Speak and Translate Chats’ is free.
