YouTube launches CaptionTube, a web-based captioning editor
YouTube have launched a new web-based application CaptionTube, designed to make the process of captioning videos significantly easier.
Although YouTube provided the ability to caption videos last August, the process was cumbersome due to the need for the captions to be saved in a separate file and then intricately time-coded to the video. The new software is set up more like a traditional video editing application, making the inclusion of captions much easier. The software also allows for the captions to be exported from the application, meaning that users are not restricted to only having the captions on YouTube.
